    Hello everyone!!
You may have seen my previous J.H. Farthing portable desk posts. Well, these ink bottles were inside that portable desk. These are just fascinating to me and it's evident that these were hand blown glass. I'm not sure what the strainer is for in the one ink bottle. Perhaps someone out there and lay some of their wisdom on me to understand what that strainer is for. I can only image the person who used these ink bottles to write letters and sign documents. If only they could talk, the stories they could tell.

Thanks very much for stopping in for a look!

    Scott

Neat stuff Scott. I think maybe the holes are a holder for quill pens? Have you ever found anything hidden when you bought one of these?

      Dave,
Thanks!! I found a check dated Nov. 1914 inside of this desk. I’ll post that later.
