Okay, so some folks may recall that a couple of months back I picked up a few Bohemian Art Nouveau glass vases cheaply in a local op shop. Well, after that exciting haul, I decided that it was high time I found some more in the other op shop that's situated a few doors up from the lucky one. I've been thinking about it, hard. Picturing it on the shelves, even.
Two months go by, & I scored today - big time.
Strolling casually through the store, I was immediately grabbed by this vase. Can you imagine how I felt just finding it, never mind when I checked the price & found it to be $3?! Could not resist showing it as I found it in the shop complete with price sticker. I think I'm going to leave it on to keep reminding me how awesome of a find it was...
Instant party mode in my brain was the result.
The vase is made from ruby glass with an iridescent finish & a draped decor. Rounded, four sided base with deep indentations topped by a stick neck, measuring around 16.5 cm tall.
Bohemian origin, circa 1900. Kralik I think, though I'm aware that Welz also made a draped decor.
Beautiful colour and you can't beat the price :)
Wish I had shops like that around here! Your luck is holding, may it continue.
Many thanks, Bernard!
