The ERF Cement Mixer seems to be a bit small for a 1956 model. Looks to be close to the size of the original Matchbox models that had to fit in an actual matchbox. perhaps it was the because of the metal drum. This model was in the catalog from 1956 through 1960. In 1961 it was replaced by the Foden Cement Truck. It was much larger but had a plastic cement drum. See figure 4.

When I was a little kid, I'd always get excited at the sight of one on the road. With that rotating barrel, it seemed almost like a carnival ride. };-)

fortapache, Trash trucks, huh? I guess I can see being wary of a large noisy machine that eats things.
With me, it was the old dark sump pump in a corner of the basement. Because it was dark, I couldn't see how shallow it was, and I was convinced that it was some kind of watery abyss. I gave it the widest possible berth.
