Here is a 10 1-4"H lavender ice neo glass giraffe that was originally designed in the 1940s, later reissued in this lavender color by Dalzell Viking for the Heisey Collectors of America in 1997. Raised imprints D, 97, and HCA on the ankles, it was called Giraffe #2 Head Back by Heisey

DejaVu thanks so much for your awesome comment, it's always a delight for me to find a Heisey animal I've never posted, and the price on this one was reasonable compared to many. The giraffe has the hallmarks of a Royal Hickman design, elegant & art deco style. I've been lucky to acquire several by Hickman they are my favorites

Rob thank you for your great spot-on comment..it's not just the kids, I don't trust myself handling something this spindly & delicate. I keep this guy in my glass door credenza with a piece of rolled duct tape under the base so it won't topple over!
