Im thinking of making a setup like that as well with my own vaseline glass!
It looks so cool at night i bet!
It looks great during the day and even better at night. If you noticed we painted the inside of the case black and we have 4 black lights. Thanks for looking
I love the collection!! And have a question for you: Have you ever had a piece of vaseline glass, sitting in a cabinet undisturbed, just spontaneously crack into one or two pieces??! This has happened 3 times to some of my depression items- NO explanation for it. It's in the display for years and suddenly I look and it has sort of 'blown apart' !! Specifically: a 2 Cup measuring pitcher- nothing special. No previous cracks or chips. Also a highly cut divided candy dish- more yellow, more "modern" looking. And a small, oval 'soap dish'. I am stymied. (and sad!)
Carole,
I have never had any glass just spontaneously crack or shatter. My guess is that you probably have some kind of vibration either from airplanes or trucks or just heavy equipment that are shaking the glass and causing hairline cracks and then the next heavy one breaks it. I don't know just a guess. Good Luck
hi, i recently started collecting uranium glass and have a very small collection. i recently bought a piece and i am interested as to what it is and who likely made it, am i allowed to post a pic here?
I am no expert on glass , but I was once told by a glass collector that bought a cut glass bowl from us that a sudden change in air temperature can cause a piece to crack or break .
i was going to say something about temp of the cabinet.is that possible
are these items for sale
if there is sunlight going into the cabinet it is just like a oven at 150 degrees and you are heating and cooling it.on the other hand you got a perfect set up to test a piece to see if it's the weekest item.

I don't have any vaseline glass on the site now.
Thanks,
Carole, I don't know if this is relevant or not, but when I was a chrysler rep, we had 6 minivans have the back windows shatter and blow outward when just parked on the sales lot. Had the detroit engineers stumped. Finally determined that they were parked under a power line, and the line would get surges. There was absolutely no rhime or reason as to why some would and other wouldn't. Just a thought.

I'm going to post a Vasoline vase, tell me your thoughts on it. Thanks, Dave
Absolutely beautiful! Realized just now that this is vaseline glass--I have several pieces and seeing this made me appreciate those items even more.
I live in hawaii and when my grandmother ( a collectro) would vist and bring glass pices she would not open or unpack them untill they were acclimated to our local temprature because she said they may crack
Very nice, I especially like the square pedestal piece on the left side rear.
I have a piece of vaseline glass that is a rectangle but has two square cut outs and is a little higher in the back then front. It looks like it would be a "post it" note holder but I know that is not what it is for....anyone know? Can not find it anywhere.
Super fancy and that's what I like to see - dedication!
