The tag on the pot when I acquired it (see photo) says purchased 1915-1920 at Arizona train station from Indians selling to tourist. Would this be Apache (flying log) or Hopi? It is a small piece approximately 3.75 x 3.75 (the back of the tag says they made small pots because tourist liked them for ease of packing). I appreciate anything you can tell me. thanks

Surprised at the marking....Not that they indicate German anything....just different.
Unique = Collectible, IMHO.
Try to research Indian rune symbols.
This is Isleta, from Isleta Pueblo, south of Albuerque, New Mexico. No relation at all to either the Apache or the Hopi.
This style of pottery was made from the late 1890's to the 1930's at Isleta. The scalloped orange/red decorative band on the bottom of the pot is distinctive to Isleta pottery from that time period.
There was a train station near the pueblo where this type of pottery was sold to tourists. This particular tourist, however, evidently didn't realize he/she was in New Mexico, not Arizona! (Still a common mistake. New Mexico is the "forgotten" state. Tourists often either lump it together with Arizona, or think they're in part of Mexico.)
