This Vaseline glass dresser jar has an interesting story. I found the top (the first piece of Vaseline I ever bought) in a shop in Binghamton, N.Y.. The guy had it displayed under a black light, and I fell in love. I paid $8.00 for it. Several years later, I found the bottom in a shop in Rochester, NY. It matches perfectly! I couldn't believe I had found it, and I gladly paid the $1.00 asking price. Sometimes you just get lucky!

I'm trying to get my head around the odds....................nah......................that's too big of a number ! GREAT FIND !
That's what I thought myself!. It's my favorite Vaseline piece, and one of my favorite deco pieces. Thanks!
OH WOW, I found this just now on icollector.com while researching something else...
This very rare figural powder jar has a striking Art Deco design featuring a finial with two mirror image flappers sitting back to back, knees bent and legs extended to the rim. Known as the 'Twins' this powder jar is shown on pg 33 of Whitmeyer - Bedroom & Bathroom Glassware of the Depression Years. Beautifully executed with fine definition to the young ladies figures and features. Measuring about 5 x 5 inches and produced in lovely green satin glass, with both the jar and lid in excellent condition.
Yeah I've bid on a few of these but sadly could not pay the price these command. On Ebay they easily rise above the $125 range .
So beautiful..... I'm jealous!
Awesome! I know you were really looking for more info on this one. Such a beautiful piece.
