Ice boxes didn't have a high survival rate in the islands & I wanted a functional one. Found plans for this via Woodworker mag. & where to buy repro. hardware. I insulated it & made everything functional just like the originals, even down to the drain sys. and drip-pan. Used beautiful tropical woods. Everybody wants it.
Now when we have a hurricane, I buy block ice in advance & have cold beer while those without generators don't. Oh, of course I would also be able to have non-essential items as well, - like food.
Of course I would have to relocate some things, - like the scanner!
