It's a thin association but I'm posting this Sasaki koala bowl in celebration of Australia Day, which is tomorrow Monday 26th January.
It's a national holiday and lots of us will sit around a BBQ, sweating, slapping mosquitos, nibbling food and drinking beer. So this Takeuchi design piece will be filled with that yummy Aussie nut macadamia.
The date is the anniversary of The First Fleets arrival at Sydney Cove in 1788 and so represents the start of European settlement in Australia. It is considered a national day of mourning by many indigenous Australians and I fully get that. We really have not much of an idea about sustainably living here; they were successful for over 50000 years.
Wherever you are enjoy your day and know in our own way we are proud of and happy in our country!
