This was something that was popular for a bit in the 1950s and perhaps 1960s. It is a flash attachment that can be folded up for easy carrying. It unfolds like a fan which is the fun part. It is the Model III but I am not finding information on it. A few different companies were making similar pieces. All were detachable and had carrying cases. This one is lacking the case but still looks neat.
