This is a small portion of my antique button collection. They are (for now as I am thinking of stringing them) mounted on foam core boards. The first two photos show some of my buttons featuring dogs. The third and fourth photos show other creatures. The first one on the fourth board is a sea life depiction, which is rather hard to discern. The zoom function, however, works wonders, so use it if you wish to see more detail! Hope you enjoy!

Laura, you know I am in love with these! Wow, they are all great. Were they originally buttons on clothing, if so they are totally unique to me. So many lovely dog breeds, I see a greyhound a special lady here will love, then those bunnies for a special guy....myself, I like those powerful looking wolf & lion heads. Love times three!!!

These are FANTASTIC Laura!! I love them all, especially the rabbit and hare buttons in pics #3 and #4. A very impressive collection.

Hi Jenni! First, I hope you are ready for this storm. It looks like you all are going to really get it. I feel awful for you guys. We are still under a winter storm warning, but I don't think we'll get over six inches, if even. It all depends, as they say, on that line.
I am so glad you like these buttons! Yes, they were used on clothing and most are circa 1800s. The first button in the second row of the first photo is older, I believe. I think this was dug by the seller and could be circa 1700s.

Thank you so much, Ken! So glad you've enjoyed these.

Hi Scott. I knew, as did Jenni, that you'd like the rabbits. The button in the third photo, second row, is my favorite rabbit and has a Paris back mark. So glad you've enjoyed this part of my button collection.

      Thank you very much, worthit2!

So glad you like these, Judy. Thank you so much! I knew you'd love the greyhound.

Thanks so much for the love, Judy, fortapache, Pascale, Phil, Roy, Hunter, Scott, Rich, Ken, and Jenni! Much appreciated!

You're very welcome Laura, they're really beautiful & unique. Well we woke up this a.m. supposed to be blowing snow, not a snowflake but they are still warning we could get alot, could this be one of those March snows that misses us, let's hope so

Jenni, I fear you got it bad down your way. I hope all is well. We hardly got a thing. The schools were on early release yesterday and a two hour delay to start this morning. It didn't start snowing until last night around 9 here. Then, we woke to barely an inch. Now, the sun is shining.

Thank you so much, Mary. I've been collecting them for around four or so years, I think. You know, I made a bracelet with my favorite bird buttons and it broke while I was grocery shopping. Someone stole it as it was never turned in, and I alerted practically the entire store. I was so distraught. If I ever make a new bracelet, I'll be sure to use a safety chain and improve my technique.

I wish I knew the provenance of each button so there would be stories to them. I do have a small collection of buttons exclusively from French flea markets as a friend in France visits them and sends me buttons, some still on cards. I do have a charm string of buttons that is posted on here, and I did find a shop north of us that has probably thousands of buttons. It's such fun to look through their cases and bins and find treasures.

What a cool collection! I love how they are displayed against whimsical backgrounds, this way each button stands out even more. Sorry to hear about the bracelet, it must have been devastating =(
As for the snowstorm, i saw someone wrote yesterday that "March came in like a lion, and out as a Tyrannosaurus Rex".. . very true!

Hi Anna! Thank you so much for the love and nice comments. I chose the clip art backgrounds to reflect the button themes. Thank you for noticing this. Thank you for your sentiments on the bracelet. I was frantic and searched the entire store (a large Stop and Shop) over and over with my son in tow. I knew I'd lost it in the store as I saw someone I knew and was talking to her and distinctly remember looking down at my wrist and seeing the bracelet. I had the produce men looking for it and the store manager and customer service counter people on alert. I just can't imagine someone finding it and not turning it in. But there are people like that, probably more than we'd like to think, huh? Yes, that storm was a real T Rex for some! We're due an amazing spring!
