Hello Everyone.
Good Evening from Ontario.2018-05-18.
I could say this is my older and also my best piece of CORO jewelry so far, in ART Nouveau style, with a Glass Cameo, that depicted a Roman Figure, probably "MARS" was a roman God of War and Second only after Jupiter in the Roman pantheon.
Gui leafs at the top of the medallion, filigree at the bottom, small little stone very well positioned, a work of Art, i don't think i could't find anything better to demonstrate CORO Workmanship.
This little brooch stand 3 inches high by 1.50 inches wide.
Many thanks for looking.
The Roman soldier is depicted in many early pieces of jewelry... My Father had a gold & black onyx ring with a Roman carved in it.. similar to a cameo.
This is a outstanding piece Alan!
Congrats on the fabulous find!!
Wow Alan, what an amazing brooch!

I am stunned that is not so much comments and appreciation on this very unique piece from CORO, I guess it’s just another’s pieces of mine.

At least we are in common agreement on this one.
Alan - Roman soldier, cameo, intaglios have been used and copied for a long time in costume jewelry - sometimes real shell or stone, sometimes plastic.
