This large brass & copper jug is in the home of a friend. He does not know anything about it but wonders what it might have contained at one time, like moonshine or fuel. The top is open and has a measurement gauged glass window near the top, on the neck. It appeared to be a float system that went inside to measure liquid. The plate on the side is written in Spanish,
“MEDIDA PARA CONTROL
INDUSTRIA ARGENTINA No 722 CAPACIDAD 20 LITROS”
Below that plate I am now seeing more words stamped and on word almost resembles (creamery) but that is not correct either.
I am guessing a moonshine distiller.
Easily converted to a still for nite-time use.
It reminds me of the (now stainless steel, I suppose?) things I occasionally see being used at gas stations, presumably by regulatory folks ensuring the accuracy of the pumps at said stations. I'm not sure how that process really works, much less if that's what your friend's pretty brass Argentinian thing really is -- but that'd be my guess...?? :-) :-) :-)
I think I agree with AnythingObscure My buddy was in the gas pump repair biz for over 50 years. He had something similar by his check pump tank stand? ran mineral spirits threw it. Measured Gallons. His was just galvy steel not as nice as yours.

How confusing....I looked up antique distillery equipment and it sure does look to me, like this container. Thanks for all the input, friends.
