This is a foil glass brooch that I know nothing about. From the clasp I think this is midcentury. It has a large glass stone with a peculiar twisted frame and 3 teardrop shaped foil beads hanging from the frame. It has a magnificent green color. The back looks a bit rough to me. The brooch is quite heavy and it is about 5,5 cm long. I have just bought it and have not yet cleaned it. Any ideas where this is from?
Awesome brooch, the bright green stones & teardrops are really lovely and I adore that sun shaped face - super find Elisabeth!
Thank you very much Jenni! I bought it without hesitation :) No one else wanted it which is a mystery to me but a good one. Got it cheap. I love foil glass jewelry, the kid in find them facinating.
I love drop brooches of any kind! And the unusual color makes this piece quite special, IMO.
Do you ever notice how much “blue” jewelry is out there? It’s nice, but to see a color such as this “ brightens” things up a bit, yes?
I love blue but I agree Ms.ChrystalShip it is nice to see other colors. Thank you dear for your nice coment. I love drops too.
Sorry, not sure where it is from. Guessing Italian or Japanese glass beads from 50's? Love the color too.
Thanks Valentino, you might be right. I don't know where most foil glass beads were made?
Thanks everyone for loving the post.
