Yes the Impala was an option for the 1958 Bel Air. It was the top of the line version for the Bel Air making it more of a luxury vehicle. The 1958 was a bit wider and lower than the tri 5s. It also had a big block 348 engine so it had more power. It was a drastic redesign and was quite the work of art. Award winning nearly horizontal fins and a wrap around rear window. I don't even think that is legal anymore.
Racing Champions is part of the Auto World family of die cast cars. They are the ones that are known for their line of True 1/64 scale models. Anyway this is still again yet another very well detailed model. Check out all that chrome trim plus those white wall tires. Of course the hood opens. The only thing here I would like is a two tone paint job but this still looks pretty good. Sea foam green is the official color of mid century.
Good detail and a classic color from that time. We had a '59 Impala, rugged workhorse.

I sure like the 58s with the 348 cool rides there was a jet black one in town in the 60s thought it was the coolest car ever

Used to go necking in the back of one of these..It was own by my friends Billy and his girlfriend Nancy ..6 weeks after he bought his car he got drafted ....we woild cruise the Lynn way / causeway to get to the beach and if we spotted someone on the beach he would shut the engine off then on and that thing would just go ......BANG !!!....lol was great dude...thanks for the flash back..
