I bought this at an estate sale for a few dollars, might it be Bernard Instone? The marking are B.I inside an oval

The anchor a lion facing east and the letter X. any ideas? The turquoise tested natural

    Thanks

      Welcome to CW!

The marks are too blurry to read. Certainly seems to be sterling silver, but pic needs to be in focus. It has a long pin clasp with a C catch which means it has some age to it. Would love to see an Instone makers mark.

I tried to get a clearer image of the marks, hopefully a little more helpful

Sorry, I’ll start again. The B.I is the hallmark for Bernard Instone. I have a lot of Bernard Instone work if you go into my postings here on CW, you’ll fine more information.

I don't believe Bernard Instone would use anything less than a genuine turquoise stone. But that's my opinion, Jean would be the expert on Instone.

The poster says the turquoise stone is genuine, he/she can also tell us how it was confirmed.

This isn’t a turquoise stone, it’s enamel. A lot of his work used this colour enamel with black and gold fleck. Hope that helps

The anchor is a Birmingham hallmark and the X is for the year 1922 an early piece.
