I found this in my Dad's loft and am wondering if anyone knows anything about it? It's 38cm in diameter and about 5 cm tall. It will have been in the loft circa 20 years....if not longer! In perfect condition.

    Many thanks

      Interesting. Chinese propaganda plate?

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quotations_from_Chairman_Mao_Tse-tung

      Is it made of metal?

You have a real prize - what appears to be a Chinese cloisonne plate dating from the years of the Cultural Revolution (1966-76), when the Beijing Enamel Factory (JingFa) was instructed by Mao to concentrate on themes relevant to The People. There is now a collectible market for these pieces.

Yes, this plate shows a few young men of the People's Liberation Army having a good read and discussion of Mao's Little Red Book. Certainly a propaganda piece, but a distinctive one. Congratulations.

well there is no internal market for this , because Deng in 1988 declared no discussion and publication about this period, the so called repudiate decree
