This is a Makuzu Kozan II vase with a turtle shell form and approximate date is 1910. I personally think it’s a stunning piece.

Thank you very much for your comments. I like it very much for its simplicity and turtle being an auspicious symbol for fertility, vitality, great patience and good fortune for 10,000 years of happiness and carrying the world in its back.

i haven,t put much effort in this , but by heart i think it is early miyagawa kozan and early one around 1920, ( because refinement of the mark) , i could be wrong because i am awfully lazy , this is also outstanding quality

Thank you very much for your appreciated comments. This mark was precisely dated as in 1910 by Clare Pollard in the Master Potter of the Meiji Japan. There are just a couple of marks dated so precisely by the author and this one in one of them.
