This 3 1-2" red, white and blue rhinestone ship's wheel silvertone brooch from Dorothy Bauer joins me in saluting our armed forces and all those who served in the military this Memorial Day weekend. A special thought for the Navy men in my family, my Dad (Korea) and favorite uncle (WW2)

It is times like these I remember seeing young photos of both men in their Navy uniforms, so handsome & eager to serve. Fortunately both made it back and had good long lives we were blessed

Thank you Lauren for your terrific praise for this ship's wheel, it was an surprise find for me by one of my fave designers Dorothy Bauer, she had that unique graphic rhinestone style that makes anything of hers a lovely splash of color. You're right, she can put a feminine spin on something masculine very well (remember her motorcycle brooch, how cool was that!)
Phil I knew the multi prongs on even the smallest rhinestones here would catch your eye, making a Bauer gem was undoubtedly a painstaking process! It's great because there are never any missing stones with a Bauer. The colors really stand out well esp that central ruby red. Wonderful praise and keen observ thank you so much!
