Another from my vacation in San Diego. This is Balboa Park which is 1200 acres of park, museums and more. I am not sure if that includes the zoo. The park had been around since the mid to late 1800s. The infrastructure of roads and the plumbing began in 1910. I believe the buildings were built for the Pan American Exposition which was held from 1915-1916. I think it may be the most beautiful and interesting of the parks on the west coast. This features the section where the museums and other buildings are. The traditional park for panicking and such is across a canyon just past photo #2.
Photos 1 and 3 are some of the other buildings for conventions and offices. There is some sort of fancy restaurant no one can go to behind photo #3.
Photo #3 is the Museum of Us which used to be the Museum of Man. It features mummies.
#4 is a big pool filled with large gold fish aka koi. The greenhouse in the background is apparently getting new glass but even the steel skeleton looks nice.

Great photos! I’m glad you enjoyed your visit. Balboa Park is a half hour drive from my house, one of our favorite places in the area so we go there several times a year. The Museum of Art, in another beautiful building, is part of my birthday ritual. If you go back there’s a casual cafe attached to it (nicer than the fancy place). I didn’t know the Botanical Building was being restored. No small task, here’s how it was:

Thank you very much Pearls. Sounds like you are in north county. Thanks for the pic of the botanical building. I forgot quite how it looked.
