This bowl is a bit over 2" high x 4.5" in diameter. It is signed on the bottom. These is quite a bit of hand painting on this bowl, but there may be some transfer or stencil work, as well. Much of the decoration is raised, like enamel. There is also quite of bit of gold accenting, but it is worn in spots. The colors are brilliant and deep, but my images are washed out due to the lighting, It is a stout piece, even though a bit thin walled. A red, blue and green dragon around the outside and green and blue dragon inside.

Will try to get some better images when I can get some natural light on it. Looks like what Gotheborg calls Qianlong Nian Zhi - "Qianlong Period (1736-1795) copy decorated in Hong Kong mid to late 20th century?

It was a slow day at GW and this bowl was the only thing of interest that I found. It was also filthy with a dark, sticky residue on it that begged for a clean-up, which I enjoy doing. $3 with a round up "for the veterans".

It is very nice ! I've always had a fondness for Asian art of any kind. Still looking for that priceless little bowl that pops up in the news every so often. Our GW's and the like here have their ups and downs too. Once you approach garage sale season donations seem to dwindle.

yes it looks old and marvelous

maybe later someting wrong with the yunwen and leinwen and the crosshatch and dots of the plating of the dragon, this ought to be a nobrainer ,it is inconsistent so i am a bit ashamed

Thanks for your comments, dav2no1! Guess the imperial stuff was the most copied.

Thanks for your comments, Jenni! Yeah, the dragons were what hooked me!

Thanks for your comments, mikelv85! It might already be on one of your shelves just waiting to be discovered!

Thanks, kivatinitz! It is a pretty good copy!

Thanks for your comments, waki! I guess this stuff was cranked out by so many makers, there are bound to be many variants.

Thanks for loving my bowl, fortapache, collectorpaul, kivatinitz, Falcon61, mikelv85, Jenni, Kevin, dav2no1 and Vynil33rpm!

Well we have to start somewere with art so any interest is pure profit
have to find a balance the cheering section , not to get beef and some kind of assesment in this hodgepodge bowl

well its not qianlong , because almost all the qianlong is in zuanshu script and not in kaisha script and is 6 character mark en not in red grosso mode

than we get some very strange solutions for what was from origan an kangxzi chasing the pearl design to safeguard quality

which is techniccaly the cross -hatch-dots imitation , so faking can be lets say grosso modo kangzhi design of the scales of the dragon , what is called the lonely lancet scale and you can do it lets say the guanghu way etc namely crosshatch -dots cross hatch dots - ad infinititum

so we are in the most favourable situation next to kangxi imitation scales in guanghu , there is something with they scales aren,t they completely stylised it to scares , and there is not much depth in it

remarqueble there is a strange solution of the yunwen -leinwen combination , which is cloud and thunder combination, which ought to be very bright and happy and vivid

guanghu oplossing of outer rim are mostly coffeerim solutions in stead gilt but there are exemptions

IMO there are the somewhat less creative solutions to probleme see pestle band in stead of the more elaborate diaper band

difficult the beehive crackle makes it confusing , not guanghu quality , IMO this could be still early interbellum , but i am not good enough in this i never buy this, i only buy zhuanshu signed , otherwise i am out within a second

what remains it still is a nice start to with

to be honest i have seen lets say better quality, but my eyes are so bad, is it crackle ??? it is not flooded !, i should have stayed out of this, i do one a favour with my chaotic approach this way

I will try to get better images today. I hope that helps.

New images. Not sure if they are better or worse... No crackle. I see now that the bowl is still pretty dirty. The colors are very bright, which the new images still do not capture well.

i stick to my meaning , it is not the easy way out , the underparameter about 1920 is quite easy upperparameter ids far more difficult , because it is not typical PROC, so anything goes even running into PROC i don,t know

please don,t asked my meaning about the quality, sometimes opinions just differs, i hope i did,not offended anyone,

Thanks! I know the quality is not good, smudged paint, random gold splotches, attention to detail varies, etc. For $3, I am happy with it.
