Quebec Carving, Pair of Old Checker Players,
Wood, Signed Caron. Claude Caron. Carved Folk Figure. this is a vintage Claude Caron wood sculpture from Saint Jean-PortJoli, Quebec. A nice piece of Treen, which has little wear and has the patina of a medium dark walnut look, the carving itself is in great condition, possibly Pear Wood. I think it is probably mid last century. I love the carved look of the man with the hat and show it that way. Makes a nice centerpiece, fit for a table or fireplace show ledge !~
