I gave a little teaser of this yesterday - the second of my super op shop finds.
With the red Tango glass rose bowl in my hand, I continued on my way through the store when I saw this vase on the green shelves. Even though it was sitting among other green things, it stood out like it was from another world.
In a split second it was in my unoccupied hand.
Guess what, it was also $3, just like the Kralik drapery vase from last week, & the red rose bowl, too.
This is a particularly cool double tube thorn vase made from green glass with an intense iridescent finish. There is an applied flower, the likes of which I've never seen before - it has to be based on a carnivorous plant of some sort (or else Kralik was employing alien glass makers).
The flower is half opaline white fine spatter, & half purple. Most of the petals curve inwards & it is hollow inside.
This vase does have a few minor losses but it is so spectacular over all that they are barely noticeable. At this price, I'm not complaining!
Bohemian origin, circa 1900.

Beautiful! I have never seen a flower like this one before - you had a lucky day!
This is very good, I certainly wouldn't have been waiting for another the same that was undamaged !! :)
Many thanks, Michelle & so nice to see you back on CW again, too!
Thanks also, Bernard!
Yes, could not turn it down for any reason, & I'm a very happy camper... :-)
