Hot Wheels Wednesday Tom McEwen Mongoose Funny Car 1969

The Mongoose of the famed Mongoose and Snake Funny Cars. Tom McEwen was known as the Mongoose and he came up with the idea for the rivalry between him and Don Prudhomme aka The Snake. It was actually a partnership as they had this deal going with Mattel for a Sponsorship. Thus the Mongoose and Snake.
This is the original version is red and based on a Plymouth Duster. I believe the Snake was a Barracuda. Tom Mckew joked that he got the family car and Don got the sports car.
As for this particular model it does have some of the original stickers. I believe I can get some reproduction stickers although I will not replace the originals.
