An unusual 'Loetz Intarsia' Vase covered with thin interwoven clear Glass Threads.

This 'Early Loetz Intarsia' vase exhibits, as an additional decoration to the, twofold repeated, green branch with three leaves and a red apple, a densily woven surface made from thin clear glass threads. Whereas 'Loetz Chine' glass is made from thicker clear threads, wrapped horizontally arround a body of finely vertically grooved glass, giving rise to small rectangular molten areas, here the thin clear threads are diagonally crossing merged on the smooth vase body to form tiny diamond like shaped areas (the technique itself reminds onto Pele-Mele). This gives the vase an overall appearence as being covered with a fine gauze. The brass mount nicely repeats leaves and fruits, and the vase shows a plane polished pontil. As most PN's of 'Early Loetz' vases are lost, the PN of this vase remains unknown, too. It's shape reminds to PN=I/7618 (1898).

My vase stands H=30.5, without mount H=28.0 cm high, the diameter on top is Do=8.0, the maximum Dm=9.0 and at the bottom Du=11.0 cm. It weights 925 gr.
