I took these pictures on a hot August day in 09 at an air show in New Garden Pa.This one comes with a poem:

From my mother's sleep I fell into the State,
And I hunched in its belly till my wet fur froze.
Six miles from earth, loosed from its dream of life,
I woke to black flak and the nightmare fighters.
When I died they washed me out of the turret with a hose.

Have you ever been to "Marsh Air Museum" in southern California? Spent 3 weeks in Cali the beginning of the years and I stopped there on my way back from Palm Springs. So many vintage air craft, also alot of military memorbila on the inside.

Ball turret gunner had to be one of the toughest jobs ever.

Impressive aircraft. Cool turret with the big Brownings. Givin him the whole 9 yards back in the day.

Great photos. I have been to airshows where everyone is sitting in the shadow of the wings like that.
Just a note that the actual Memphis Belle has not flown since 1945 or 46. In 2009 it had been disassembled as they were moving it. Currently it is under restoration. The plane here was probably one that played the Memphis Belle in the movie and goes to airshows still painted as the Memphis Belle.
