Found this at the flea market and it works!!! The fan is s 2 speed and it oscillates. I saw it and I was saying to myself if it works I'm getting it and after a quick demonstration from the seller I said I'll take it. I don't know what the year of manufacture is but I'm sure someone will tell me. I also have no idea how to categorize this either, but im sure the CW folks will do it for me please and thank you:)

According to my looking at it and going hmmmm, it is mid 1950s. I'll do a bit of research.

Nice! Use caution when children are around. Those old wire guards have large holes.

Keep it oiled and it'll run forever. Fans of this vintage were built like appliances and were not considered cheap throwaways. I've had several old ones and use them regularly - nice find.

I've been thinking about a little competition for a while and I think in light of all that's been going on this would be a good time. I don't want to give any details yet to keep it fair . And I do want EVERYONE to feel comfortable about joining in. I will post details and get it started tomorrow if no problems come up .
      Pass it on.

The fan blades on these were metal and had no respect for little fingers if they were poked in. I remember them from the late 50's. Set a bowl of ice cubes in front of it and crank it up.....instant air conditioning.

Never use them to slice a banana if your mother is looking.
    42. Trey Trey, 9 years ago
      Sounds like fun Hedgewalker:)
    43. Trey Trey, 9 years ago
Yes fhrjr2 that is the first thing my wife said because we have 3 sets of little fingers running through the house:) the banana trick and ice cubes I am going to have to try!!
    44. fhrjr2 fhrjr2, 9 years ago
Banana works great until it gets short or you get a boot in the butt. Also never melt cheese for your sandwich in the new toaster.
    45. Trey Trey, 9 years ago
LOL fhrjr2 I have a friend that tried to make her grilled cheese sandwich in the toaster when she was little:)
