    The Fugitive was my favorite dragster back in the long long ago. I really liked the 1969 Corvette and this was probably the coolest looking one there was. With the huge headers and spark producing wheely roller bar it was quite impressive. Especially when it was running on nitro.
    Wheelstanders were exhibition cars that would do the the whole quarter mile with the front wheels up.
    I went to the Wheelerstander Champianships race mentioned in photo #2. It was round robin competition were each car did three races. I think the Hemi Under Glass one that one.
    All these photos are from my scrap book I collected when I was kid. I bought the color photo at one of the race tracks, was either Irwindale or OCIR. Just got a new scanner so more dragster photos will be coming.
