English Enfield Mantle Clock 1940 - 1950. Undergoing restoration, full movement clean, service and oil. Unfortunately full case restoration is required. This literally has been used for decades as an actual mantle clock, and so is full of soot and dust. Nothing that can't be fixed. the movement actually works, but will benefit from treatment. A particularly nice and unworn dial.

Thanks Tassie, just taking my time with it, spending alot of time on the casework, this case has magnificent grain that was hidden with aged shellac and cement like beeswax. Tanks again for your comment.

Snap! I rescued an identical one from a boot sale. Now it is running but, as yet, not striking. It sounds as if it's engaging and threatening to strike on the half and hour but nothing happens. Anyway, it'll keep until I find a repairer.
