This Rindskopf vase is about 8.5" tall and about 4" in diameter at the base. It is made of a deep purple base glass, but that is difficult to see because of a metallic green iridescence on the surface. Depending upon the angle of the light purple and gold iridescent colors may also be picked up. There is no pontil mark on the base and the rim is ground flat. The glass is quite thick and heavy at about 1/4" in thickness. I like to call this shape "the bowling pin" for lack of a better term, but it probably represents a highly stylized flower bud. I like to collect this shape in a variety of sizes and decors. c. 1900-1915. Hope you enjoy, Cheers! - Bob

Thank you Malkey... I love the bold iridescence, and this décor is not seen too frequently either.

Bob, isn't it amazing how this decor is made of different horizontal bands of iridescence? I have a different shape in the same decor that shows the same properties as yours - it is something you don't see very often in other maker's work. This is a very nice example!

Quite true Wandlessfairy... some of the boldest iridescence I've seen.

Yes Michelle, a simpler décor, but very effective too!
