Here is my newest lamp I picked up at the auction today: Patented March 10, 1863 (backwards 6) C.A. Kleemann & C.F.A. Hinrich's, New York, "sole agents" lamp with white shade painted a tealy green. Essentially, a student's lamp. The patent was re-issued in December of 1873, but it isn't listed on the lamp's badge, so I think it dates prior to 1874 (though they're still offered in 1902, assuming with newer patents; it appears that the patent '70 (apparently?) and '73 and '74 (also, apparently, according to other people online) versions come with green shades similar to mine, whereas patent '63 versions come only with white). While it was electrified in what looks like the 1970s, it was originally oil as the gravity-fed canister is removable, rusty inside, and has a float device controlling how much oil is released into a tube that feeds the burner. I added the chimney. As I'm a student, it fits me perfectly!
