As a teenager in the 70's I had a friend that his dad worked on the railroad. In their house was a bookshelf that was filled with glass insulators of many shapes and colors. I was fascinated by them , even back then. Lately I have started my own collection .

Insulators are indeed quite collectable and inexpensive. You can get 100 yr old pieces for a few $.
Nice. I've started picking these up when I find them for a good price, too. Prices are starting to go up on them where I live. I often see them for over $10 apiece for the small ones.
