Jan Benda, a native of the Czech Republic, has been diligently blowing glass since graduating from the Technical Glassblowing Institute in 1969. After refining his craft for over fifteen years, with some of the most revered masters in glass blowing, Jan and his wife Krystyna opened Krystyna Glass studio on the sunshine coast of British Columbia in 1987. Using hand blown techniques from the Czech tradition Jan has been devoted to achieving simple, elegant and contemporary one of a kind creations for the past twenty years.
