    Hi can anyone please tell me what this box may have been used for. As you can see from the images seems to have some religious emblems on the top & date of 1869 on the front.

      good question AnythingObscure! i think that it was used as a sacristy - for the priest's sash and other tools of the altar - not Catholic, but maybe Episcopalian?
