This 3"L greyhound brooch has white rhinestones, black enamel, a golden ear & one green eye on goldtone. A limited edition piece from 1993 by Carolee (founded in 1972)

Has an Art Deco look to me. Very elegant but not stuffy. Love this design.

I've never seen a greyhound look so stylish and at a glance catlike! But then again greyhounds are rather elegant and feline creatures, this one reminds me of the artist Erte and should be accompanying a 1920's and very art deco lady down the street or perhaps he's patiently waiting for her to finish her shopping in a place like Harrods or Macy's?!
Nice piece, Eileen is right, he is very similar to the Trifari one. I saw one the other day after seeing this post, and had to go and look.

Thank you Lauren for the excellent comment you are so right about the Erte comparison, this dog has that pampered snooty pooch look & belongs on a rich lady's arm :) I also agree the greyhound has a feline grace, we had a family pet that was part greyhound (a mixed breed, in the old days we called them mutts, he was also part beagle) & he inherited those long graceful legs but not the nervous temperament
