Photo 1 - Two Victorian era glass hand vases which contain uranium. The left one is a pale custard colour with delicate enamel decoration, which was purchased on a road trip (remember those?) many years ago, & one of my favourites. The right one is an unusual, vibrant shade of lime green.
Photo 2 - The same two vases showing an intense glow under UV light.
Photo 3 - This was the second hand vase I ever bought, & the first in this size (the very first one was a miniature). Plain clear glass enhanced by a flamboyant, double crimped top rim. Found at a flea market in 1995. Oh dear, I was only 22 back then, how the years fly by...
Photo 4 - I bought this on eBay while waiting for a bus. Yes, I will shop anywhere, anytime & I'm not ashamed, LOL!
This is a clear pink with a satin finish, & is marked on the base Depose France. I think this is of relatively recent manufacture. The swirly, almost vermicular pattern on the cuff is different, as is the scalloped base.

I first learned about the existence of hand vases in 1995, it was from a picture in a book. I knew I had to get one (or two, or more) right away. It took me a few months to find the first one but once the ball got rolling, it was an unstoppable force!
