Hello everyone!!
I recently acquired this set of early 19th century andirons, or at least the figural portion of a set of andirons. They were very rusty when I got them, but a good cleaning and polishing helped to bring them back to life. I'm told that these are a depiction of Jack and Jill, but none of the depictions of Jack and Jill, that I've ever seen anyway, resemble this couple. I do wish the remainder of these andirons were still around, but unfortunately these are the only portions that remain. These are from England and I say that these are early 19th century, but, based on the design of these, I'm leaning more toward late 18th century. They each measure 7" tall and 7" wide.

I have two climate controlled storage units that I store most of my collection in. Believe it, or not, we have very few items displayed in our house. But, that's because my wife won't let me:)

Thanks Jenni!! I love the brass embellishments and the scrolling in the cast iron. Something that you don't see on later pieces.

Thanks Eileen!! I wish they were bookends, but they’re andirons. I do wish I had the remaining pieces to these andirons that are missing.
