My sister found this iron tool after someone tried breaking into a drink vending machine at her store about 18 years ago. They ruined the drink box door but failed to get to the coin box….and they left their burglary tool.
    Obviously amateurs!
My sister displayed the tool in her store window for years but no one claimed it.

Just today, she realized there’s lettering on the tool.
We were hoping it was some valuable antique, but we were wrong.
The company is still in business today so we were able to find what the tool was intended to do: break the rubber rim of a tire free from the metal rim of a wheel.

I’d hate to have to work with it; it weighs 4 pounds 3.8 ounces and measures 12” long.

We had one of those on the farm... definitely a bear to work with. My dad would usually resort to driving the tractor over the side wall of a tire to break the bead. The weight of the tractor never failed to break the tire free from the rim :)

I know they use a lot of wrecking bars we called them crow bars. We always had one in the trunk of the car. I just hate it when they have to use things to vandalize other's property !~
