North Carolina folk art "lilly pad" occasional table rendered completely in patinated and etched steel with a tip of the hat to Art Nouveau naturalistic forms. Dimensions: 36"(H) x 24"(W)

Kevin Kuhnel (born 09/05/1956, Albany, NY). Kuhnel lived in the Hudson Valley, until the age of 13 when he moved with his family to Cary, NC. After graduation from high school and having numerous jobs, he began a 30 year career with the NC Department of Transportation. His artistic talent began to emerge just before he retired on 06/06/2006. He is self taught and works primarily with steel, yet wanders towards other media at times. Kuhnel has lived outside of Pittsboro, NC for the past 20 years and has a studio at his home.

Lovely Cogito! Is it super heavy?

Amazing piece! Do you use it?

Thanks all. It's not very heavy at all, but very sturdy. The top has been coated, so we do use it as a plant, vase and candle stand. Right now we have a nice orchid, candle and one of my antique Clement Massier iridescent vases on it. At some point we may use a lamp on it if I can find the right complimentary form.
