I bought this solely for its shape. Prior to this I had thought that the only examples of this shape were ribbed and made by Welz. Obviously I was wrong.....in one way or another.....or probably completely!!!

The iridescence, on clear glass, is faint.....gold on the vase itself and blue and pink on the ball feet. Once again photography has enhanced the iridescence. It's really only big enough for a single bloom, and a small one at that.

Moonstonelover21 has identified this vase as Harrach.

    Height 14 cm./5.5 inches

I agree SEAN, and probably quite rare.....thanks for troubling to comment!

As far as I am aware, Welz only did hollow feet that were ribbed. More commonly with a ribbed tri-balled configuration, but occasionally with a 4 ball stack like this.

The pink example bottom row in the following pic is one of only a few I have seen in this configuration. The pink example is in my personal collection.

Hmmmm, Craig, this one I bought for a bit of fun....at a fun price too! Three times I've decided against bidding on Welz ones......one of them is bottom left in your link! Niggles me now....

If collecting for a long time has taught me nothing else, it has taught me that almost everything comes along again...... sometimes quickly.... sometimes years later..... but almost without exception they will come along again..... :-)

And what's more, Karen, when I went to Moonstonelover's link I found I had 'loved' her vase.....then totally forgotten it!

I thought I'd seen this here before. Very nice Peggy. Love that you forgot you'd seen it, I've done that too, but not this time, I guess this vase stuck in my mind.

Hi Fran, it gets worse! As both Karen and you remember this shape I went looking for it and found a post by Alfredo with a four ball base. And yes I'd 'loved' that too!

I love this three-footed shape, Peggy! The finish on these types of vases is Harrach's 'Iris Glatt Crystal' - a beautiful iridescence with blues and pinks. I recently added a vase to my collection (with one ball foot, only, though) - I'll post it so you can see it, too. :)
