I was out looking for things this week and came across this Coca-Cola lollipop porcelain sign. This is only the top part of a pedestal sign. Looks like someone used it for target practice at one time or another. I didn't have one so I still bought it in this condition. I put it up with the other coke items. This will have to do until I can find one in better shape. I think we all call that character.

Looks great in your collection!
Thank you chevy59 for the love and the compliment!
Great items. The new sign fits nicely into your collection. Is it as large as it looks?
Whoever used it for target practice, was a pretty good shot. Nice grouping. :)
No, that's called vandalism. Character is the natural aging and rusting of an item that was used for its intended purpose. Still a neat item. Maybe a famous bank robber shot holes in this.... I often wonder who leaned up against my old signs or used my Coke machine...ya never know.
Watch it Ray-- you just gave some ebay sellers another way to hype their items:
"Rare Coca Cola sign shot by Bonnie and Clyde".

Thanks TGBWC for stopping by and commenting and the nice comment!
Thanks scottvez for stopping by and liking the sign! Love your comment about Bonnie and Clyde!
There ya go official! They are fun to have in the collection for sure. Just somethin bout these Lollipops, who walked by them? Probably thousands at the very least. Like Ray said, who shot at it, leaned on it? I love the possible history of it! Looks great on the wall too!
Thank you Signaholic for stopping by and commenting! I picked that sign up and down several times before I pulled the trigger. Just had to have it. I also found an original base for it. I may try and marry them together. Thanks again for the compliment!
Thank you vanskyock24 for stopping by and giving the old sign some love!
Looks nice Michael.
Thank you shughs for the love and the compliment! :-)
I would say those are not bullet holes, grouping is too symmetrically square. By the look of the circular imprint around them, those are bolt holes. Either someone bolted something over it or bolted the sign itself to something. It's a beautiful sign... and maybe I've been watching to much CSI!
Dave is right. And you can see the circular pattern marks where something was attached it it. Good eye Daddy! Maybe used as a spare tire on Bonnie & Clyde's getaway car after one of their tires was shot out. Hey, it could happen....
Nice pick fuel!! Coke signs in any condition are hard to come by around my place, I would have grabbed it too!! That is a pretty good assumption Dave, I bet after the base disappeared it was u-bolted to a post. History's Mysteries, lol.
Nice pick official, but I'm still groovin' that beauti clock you found. They look awesome as a grouping!

Have A Happy New Year!
Thanks for the picture TGBWC. I did manage to save it before it was pulled. That was great.
Thank you Longings for stopping by and showing some love!
I actually deleted it. CW deleted my rare prototype Coke bottle and sketch post because I wasn't the owner of it (still thought it was worthy enough to show and tell about it) so I decided to delete my own Bonnie & Clyde post. Oh well...
I still wonder about the history behind our collections. Whenever I acquire an item for my collection, I always ask the seller to provide any history behind the item (where it came from, how it was found, who owned it...) if possible.
Looks great with the clock, Thought I'd drop in and wish you a Happy New Years
