Picked up this old former flange sign over the holidays, cleaned and gave a lite coat of clear to enhanse the graphics. The reverse is very roached, but you can still make out the ghosting of the lettering. Not exactly sure of age, maybe someone knows.

Bernie this is an early McColl Frontenac company sign! Canadian for sure and still has great graphics, my guess would be around the early 20s era. Great find Bernie!
Later in the 20s to early 30s, they added white to the indian's braids for more pop so to find one without white on the braids is early bro!
Thanks very much for the info Perry, very helpful. Figured it was old, just nice to know a time-frame. Too bad it's not in better shape, but the price was right for another garage "wallhanger".
Thank-you all for the "loves & like"!!
Love your Red Indian sign. Looks great to me. I have never clear coated a sign. Do you think clear coat will help my Coke Bottle sign a little bit or should I just leave it alone. TAL
Hey bones, saw your coke sign, very cool old piece!. It will greatly enhanse the colors that are left on your sign to give it a spray of clear gloss. I would'nt do this to every sign, but most pieces it helps with stopping any more deterioration, makes them "pop", and helps avoid the comments from people saying "why did you put that on your wall"!!
Investment grade signs, which are few and far between, are another matter. Most "purists" do not like any treatment or restoration at all.
Thanks picker. I'm going to try that after I get thru un-packing .
good grab for sure!!!
What a FANTASTIC piece! Very simple but yet graphic! Amazing find! Enjoy it.
Thank-you zguy2112 for the nice comment!
Thanks all for the nice comments and the "Loves". One of the few pieces I parted with, sadly, but it went to a Red Indian collector!
