I love Animals in art, Vienna bronzes are very appealing, specially when in large size.

I bought for cheap this poor little guy who had a broken leg, and couldn't stand.

He sat in my cabinet for years, balanced on a knife rest, waiting for some healing!

After several attempts with U shaped nails and screw wrapped in polymer clay, he still not stood...

The treatment finally was a piece of transparent rubber tube (was in the incaseof box!) holding pieces of toothpick, balanced the heavy bird till it found the convenient position.

Some glue held the leg in place, pressed with a pinch.

The toes are crossed toothpick pieces slightly carved to embedded together flat.

Finally a drop of UV curing resin held leg and toes together as I held him standing.

Several layers of resin, cured one by one gave some volume and solidity to the repair.

For now, still not found convenient patina, but very pleased to see KIKI standing by his own!

    :-D
