As there has been quite a bit of interest in another post with a fumsup I thought I should show you mine.
I was lucky enough to swoop on this one about 6 years ago.... thought it was worth the money with it's original box!
It is silver with a wood head with glass eyes. Rd 636612 for 1914 on it's back and FUMSUP on it's front. There is a shamrock for luck on the forehead, and TOUCHWOOD for luck on the back of the head. The thumbs turn up and the arms are moveable to "touch wood"! There are wings on the feet!
The Fumsup came on the brooch which I don't think is original to it, but I have left them together as I received them. I think the brooch which is sterling silver and lovely, is Blackpool Tower. The original box is not in the best condition however the original card and the poems are great. Quite rare I think to have the original box!
These lucky charms were given to soldiers during WW1.
Hope you enjoy this one.....I think I am very lucky to have it!
