Here's another piece I've had for many years, over 40...that sounds so crazy! I have no idea who made it but it's pretty awesome. One of my great aunts gave to me all those years ago. My guess is that it's an Italian dish, her home was filled with what I know now to be "nothing but the best" and I have to say this...her engagement ring was a 10k yellow canary diamond. When I was little she used to take it off to let me wear it around the house. It would practically buy a house then and now!
Anyway, I would like to ID this so that it has a name. The dark design about the rim is actually inlay silver that you can feel by touch. Also on the rim are 4 etched florals. I'm not sure if this is considered cranberry glass??? Unbelievably this piece weighs 4.5 pounds and 13" across!
I have contemplated selling this but I really don't think I can...I can hear her say "Yes, sell it, it's just a piece of glass"! But I think to me it's much, much more.
I have a few others from her that I'll post too and I'm pretty confident I'll finally have an answer to this here.

Beautiful! I have an Art Deco set that I've had a similar time identifying but finally discovered that some companies bought various blanks and then decorated small batches or custom orders, one of these companies that did that was Lotus in Barnesville, Ohio. They did not make glass just decorated it. You might try identifying the glass first and then see if you can find the design.
Although I haven't found the exact bowl while researching your Silver Overlayed bowl, I discovered that almost every Tom, Dick and Harriet glass companies operating in the 1920-40's made a similar pattern they called, Block, Block Optic, Georgian, Martha Washington and Honeycomb...to name few. After looking closely at all of them, I came to the conclusion that the closest to your bowl's pattern was Cambridge's "Honeycomb". Not all of Cambridge's bowls were marked with the "C" in a triangle mark. IMHO- BOB

I am right with you LM...seems like everyone's got something similar or so close that you just can't tell unless there is a sig on it and even then ??? I honestly don't get it. I would think that they would have something, a pattern or design that's exclusive to themselves, but I don't suppose that could have a patent.. As far as I can see, there is no sig mark anywhere on this so whoever did make it, really did a good job though.

Hi Gillian, wow, I actually got a notice on your comment! Thanks for the love on this dish, it brings my memories back to when these relatives were alive! What a great couple they were and how much I miss them both. This is my Great Aunt that gave me the inspo in the 60's that would wear multiple pieces of turquoise, some of which I still have and wear as well!
