This 3" ruby red collie is by Mosser Glass of Cambridge OH (founded 1970). This model was discontinued in the late 70s, has a lightly etched "M" scrape in the glass on dog's upper flank between front & rear legs (pic #3)
So lovely Jenni. .....your glass animals are just terrific! :-)
Beautiful Collie!!!!
I love this red "Lassie!" Do you display all of your glass animals together? I can only imagine how gorgeous the glass is with light streaming through! How is your weather down there? We're getting slammed!
I'm really happy you like my glass animals Judy, I try to show some variety as well as older age ones that qualify as "antique" for this site
Scott I hoped my collie would please, he may not be an Irish setter but he IS red and long haired lol
Ken you always say the kindest things, I've tried really hard to locate most of the "window glass" animals that we're popular in the US in the sixties and seventies but some are just not available anymore
Laura thank you for loving my Lassie, unfortunately after photographing them I keep them in a slim display cabinet, as we do not have a bay window for display - they sit there all together and it reminds me of that sad poem Little Boy Blue by Eugene Field for some reason. Oh yes, horrible wind & rain today, I think it's called noreaster Riley
Many thanks everyone for the love

Many thanks for your kind luv aura & Roy, much appreciated
I love your glass animals too Jenni. We don't get much American glass here and I am so enjoying seeing the styles and colours of your animals.
You're so kind about my glass animals Karen, I've tried to show a good cross section of vintage American art glass animals as they are more readily available here, but I love glass from all countries, and will soon be adding some Italian Murano pieces
Thank you so much for the luv Anna, much appreciated
Thanx so much Thomas for the kind words, he is a pretty unique Lassie (esp being red), I love his mane of hair around the face like a lion
Glad you enjoyed my collie Mary, thank you
Appreciate the luv Sean, thank you
Jenni, this is so synchronistic that you mentioned Eugene Field. I was just looking at a Field book I have called Lullaby Land. It has gorgeous illustrations.
Laura, did you read his Little Boy Blue? Better have a hankie ready lol
Jenni, thank you for reminding me of that beautiful poem. It's much better than Toy Story, isn't it?
Yes, most definitely Laura
