This is a Grand Prix car. They are just like stock cars but the people involved drink wine instead of beer.
The interesting feature of the Porsche 917 is the flat V-12 engine. Allowed the car to be lower to the ground thus less air drag and a race winner.
This model is fairly common but is realistic and well detailed. The rear hood opens to reveal the flat V-12. The rear window is clear to show the engine when the hood is closed.
With luck I can post another item tonight. Stayed tuned to this site once more.

I believe the engine in the 917 Porsche was two flat 6 cylinder engines combined to make a flat 12 cyl engine. They did not have the V configuration.
