    Found this in a stash of old family items. It appears to be a spring loaded cutting instrument. You can pull back on the "hammer" and the little "sword" on the front will lock the spring in place, push down on the sword blade, and the little sharped piece gets pushed forward quickly. Labled "KOLB" on the back side with some plant etchings.

      It is a fleam or bleeder-- nice to have the original case.
