I was very happy to have this lovely shell arrive a few days ago; I thought it might feel too large for some reason, but it is actually perfect in size, at 7-1/2" (19cm) long. I wasn't 100% sure about the shell shape before it arrived, but I actually really love this piece! Based on the paper pattern book, it dates from about 1897-1902; similar shells are shown in the same shape, but in different decors from Chiné, so I can't be more exact on the date.
