Oh, I love this! Every part of this fox is so incredibly detailed, even his teeth look real.

Thank you! I believe it came from someone affiliated with the local Rolling Rock Hunt Club.
How is it attached to the wood? If screws or studs/nuts, I’d love to see if there are any markings and whether cast plaster/chalkware or pottery.
When you press your fingertip on the finish, hold it for a few seconds, then remove it, does it feel like glass-like (fired glaze) or like varnish? Varnish will be just slightly tacky.

This is at the house I am moving to. I will check it out when I am over there (soon) and reply to you here. I really believe that it is pottery. 99% sure it is not chalkware because I have a lot of chalkware. I got a lamp from the same collection with a horse and jockey that I will have to post. Thank you!
